When our patients required a directory of the most qualified oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the area, it was only logical for us to consult our hand-picked New York Gilbertdata database. Alumni were questioned about a person in whom they would place their own health or the health of their loved ones if they had the opportunity.

This is the very first “Specialists” list, and it was prepared by MSP Communications utilising a combination of peer nominations and their own research on the potential winners (including professional achievement and disciplinary history).

Oral and maxillofacial surgery is now formally recognised as a separate discipline of dentistry by the American Dental Association (ADA). Oral and maxillofacial surgery professionals such as dentists, orthodontists, and others diagnose disorders and treat patients with restorative and reconstructive operations.

The American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS), which has been accepted by the American Dental Association’s Council on Dental Education, is the board that certifies specialists in this area of dentistry.
